About a third of my patients drive in from Port Angeles.
Five Element acupuncture in Sequim, serving Port Angeles and the Olympic Peninsula.
Some come for neuropathy that's been creeping up for years. Some come for back pain that didn't resolve after physical therapy. Some come because they've had acupuncture before — often in Seattle or the Bay Area, before they moved out here — and they want to find someone who works the way the practitioner they trusted used to work.
The drive is the easy part. Twenty-five minutes east on Highway 101, parking out front, no traffic to speak of.
What I treat
Peripheral neuropathy makes up a significant portion of my caseload. Chronic pain, insomnia, anxiety, and the kind of stress that lodges in the body and doesn't move on its own come in steadily too. A more complete list lives on the Conditions I Support page. If neuropathy is what brought you here, the peripheral neuropathy page covers protocol and what to expect.
I don't claim to treat everything. When something is outside what acupuncture does well, I'll say so during the consultation.
The Five Element approach
Five Element acupuncture treats the person, not just the symptom. The framework comes from classical Chinese medicine — observing how the body moves through cycles the way the seasons do, and where those cycles get stuck. Pain is stuckness. Insomnia is stuckness. Anxiety is stuckness in a different register.
In practice, this means the first appointment is long. We talk through your history, what's happening now, what you've already tried. The treatment that follows isn't pulled from a chart — it's tuned to what's actually present in your body that day. Tung Style points come in as a complementary modality when the situation calls for it.
Patients tell me the difference shows up in how the treatments feel and how long the results last. The goal is to get you better and send you back into your life, not to keep you coming indefinitely.
What to expect
Sessions are 60 to 90 minutes. The clinic is a single-practitioner space — no front desk, no shared treatment rooms, no rush. I'm NCBAHM board certified and licensed in Washington as an L.Ac. and AEMP. Forty-two patients have left five-star reviews; what they say is on the testimonials page.
Appointments are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, by appointment only. New patients start with a free 20-minute consultation — in person or by phone. It's a real conversation, not a sales pitch. If we're not a fit, I'll say so, and I'll often know someone who is.
Driving from Port Angeles
The clinic is at 160 Harrison Road, Suite 3, in Sequim — about 25 minutes from downtown Port Angeles via Highway 101 east. Take the Sequim Avenue exit, head south, and Harrison Road is on the left. Free parking out front. The building is set back from the road; look for the small sign.
If the drive is a real obstacle — mobility, gas, scheduling around someone else's work day — say so during the consultation. We can usually find something that works.
